“Local audiences can get a feel for those ideas at the Boston Symphony Chamber Players’s first concert of the 2024-25 season, on Sept. 29. The program focuses on music by Blacknificent 7 members, including Jessie Montgomery, Damien Geter, Jasmine Barnes, and Carlos Simon himself. Simon also suggested moving it out of the usual Chamber Players venue of Jordan Hall and making it a free concert at the South End’s historically Black Union United Methodist Church, Smith said.”
