Composer Jessie Montgomery was awarded the GRAMMY in the category of Best Contemporary Classical Composition for her composition “Rounds,” performed by pianist Awadagin Pratt and the A Far Cry chamber orchestra on the album Stillpoint (you can listen to it there). Montgomery write that “Rounds” was “inspired by the imagery and themes from T.S. Eliot’s epic poem Four Quartets, fractals (infinite patterns found in nature that are self-similar across different scales), and the interdependency of all beings.”
